Below you can find a few projects I worked on while at Looped in, a knitwear brand based in Southern Italy.
McPADDEN FW2020
Pictured above is a collaboration between Looped in and Irish designer Maria-Christina McPADDEN for her fall/winter 2020 knitwear collection. Below you will find development and swatches we worked on with McPADDEN to get her desired outcome.
The client wanted what we called a “bubble stitch.” It is shown in the light blue yarn above. It was important to her that there was a lot of dimension, but she also wanted it to be in an interesting texture and color. We originally started with a 100% wool yarn from Lanecardate. With the wash we used on the swatch, it lightly felted the yarn, giving it the dimension. She changed the 100% wool to a mohair blend; however, the mohair didn’t give the dimension she desired, so we went back to the 100% wool.
The final sleeve for the puff sleeve style in the 2nd color way. We were extremely pleased with the outcome!
Pictured is the trim for the 2nd color in the vest style. This picture really shows the dimension of the bubble stitch.
I created this layout and added detailed information for the programmer to update the latest swatch.
Above are various swatches with different washes, tensions, and one with an end of lurex in the navy ground color.
In this swatch, the turquoise yarn is mohair. After the swatch was steamed and linked, the bubble stitch had flattened immensely. This was when we decided to go back to 100% wool.
For the vest style, the client wanted to continue to bubble stitch in the trim. We kept the body of the vest basic with a simple links-links stitch.
PRISCAVera FW2020
Above are pictured the scarves we helped develop and produce for PRISCAVera.
I created this layout with the measurements to make sure each striped section was equal in width.
All three of the solid color scarves are in the same yarn as the striped scarf. Since some colors of the same yarn differ in tension, weight, etc. I made tech flats for each of the three solid color scarf prototypes. I included the measurements and notes for each prototype for the programmer to change so the scarves were all the same size, tension, and weight.
PRISCAVera SS2020
While the designs do not belong to me, I did create the tech flats (above) for the tech designer within the factory.

Cushnie Pre-Fall 2019
Above is a POM sheet for a size grade for a dress from Cushnie’s Pre-Fall collection. This was handed off to the tech designer within the knitwear factory.
